Care
While location, engaging activities and affordable senior services are important, quality care is a pivotal factor when selecting a senior living community. You want assurance that you will be treated with respect and dignity. And your family wants peace of mind knowing that you will be cared for with compassion and competence.
At St. Mary’s Woods the well-being of each resident is the hallmark of everything we do. Our team of caring professionals is dedicated to understanding the individual needs and desires of each resident. Our assisted living services are customized to promote independence and to foster trust and personal fulfillment. With a registered or licensed nurse on site 24 hours a day, every day, residents and their families have confidence knowing that assistance is always available.
Wellness
Total Health is our approach to wellness and well-being at St. Mary’s Woods. With Total Wellness, we provide personalized senior care for our residents, ensuring they receive the services and assistance to address their emotional and physical needs. This, along with strategically developed life enrichment programs—including outings, opportunities for socializing, nutritious meals, fitness classes, worship, and more—contribute to our philosophy of Total Health. By meeting the needs of our residents on every level—physical, emotional, intellectual, vocational, social, and spiritual—we can enrich lives while providing the best possible care.
Fitness
There are many opportunities to participate in programs that contribute to fitness at St. Mary’s Woods. Physical, occupational, and speech therapists provide physician-ordered strengthening and rehabilitation sessions in a well-equipped gym. An exercise room for residents includes a Nu-step machine, pulleys, weights, and balance equipment. Tai Chi classes, seated exercise classes, and organized walking programs are also available for residents. For those who want to exercise outside, a paved path provides a tree-lined place to walk.
Education is an important part of wellness as well. St. Mary’s Woods regularly provides special programs on health topics of interest to residents.
Pastoral Care
As a way of supporting the spiritual and emotional needs of our residents, we offer a unique resource in our on-site Pastoral Counselor, Sarah Francis. Sarah provides non-denominational worship services and spiritual care for our residents, as well as family members and employees. In addition to leading group worship services, Bible studies, and prayer groups, she is also available to residents for private, one-on-one counseling sessions.
